George, as the Logo states "The City for all Reasons" is a town in the Western Cape Province, South Africa, set in the very centre of the majestic Garden Route, surrounded by ocean, mountain, forest and farmlands and lies distantly east of Cape Town and immediately inland from the Indian Ocean. It was founded in 1811 as the first British settlement in the Cape Colony and named after King George III, as was George Peak nearby. Hops, not otherwise grown in South Africa, are cultivated in the area. Aircraft, Boats, Shoes, Furniture and Paint are just some products manufactured in the town. George serves as an educational and service centre for the surrounding rural area. It has a mild and equable climate and is traditionally a place of retirement.

Due a strict economic policy, effective municipal management and controlled crime, the Garden Route is not only expanding vastly, but is literally exploding with Knysna, George and Mossel Bay as some of the fastest growing towns in South Africa.

With all the migration form other provinces, housing as well rental has become expensive in George. George offers excellent outdoor activities, the sea, excellent medical care, and investment opportunities. With all this in mind, it just makes good business sense to host this prestigious event in George.

The George Agricultural Show is annually hosted in George since 1861, as the largest Agricultural Show in the Western Cape. The Building and Lifestyle Expo will be hosted annually by Clickonit at the George Show Grounds on the R102, Groenewyde Park, George.
